Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate is not a fan of the brutality in American Football. The UFC fighter believes that the violence of the sport has gone over the line and does not deem the sport to be safe. Tate references a video involving football training between two relatively young kids. She goes on to say that she believes MMA to be a safer sport than American Football.

Tate said, I’d rather have my kids fight MMA than play football tbh, you hear the guy at the end saying “you’re good” no he’s not GOOD.”

The UFC fighter talks about how she would prefer her kids to practice MMA over training for the NFL. The safety of the NFL has been a topic of debate for decades now and with more recent conversations about concussions and serious brain damage, the argument seems to be getting more one-sided.

Dangers of American Football as compared to MMA

While the idea of fighting someone in a cage may seem more dangerous, more and more people have come out, talking about how they believe the NFL could be as dangerous, if not more than Mixed-Martial-Arts. Miesha Tate is a prominent member of the UFC women’s division, who has fought opponents like Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes.
