At UFC 278, Leon Edwards challenged Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title. The fight took place on August 20, 2022, in Salt Lake City. The duo fought for the second time after their first fight happened way back in 2015.

But Edwards surprised everyone as he knocked out Kamaru Usman with a head kick with just under a minute left on the clock.
As the fight moved to the final round, the UFC commentary booth had already counted out Leon Edwards. Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier stated that it looks like Leon Edwards has accepted his defeat. Right at the moment when the commentary team was doubting Edwards’s heart, he head-kicked Usman and secured himself one of the most amazing returns in the history of the promotion.
