Joe Rogan has confirmed his presence at the upcoming UFC 298 card despite not being a fan of its location! The highly anticipated event is set to take place on February 17th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. As such, the UFC color commentator and podcast host recently reiterated his displeasure with the state that he once called home.
During a conversation with NFL star, Aaron Rodgers, on the JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) podcast #2099, Rogan confirmed that he would be a part of the broadcast booth for the event. But despite the appeal of some massive fights at the event, the podcast host revealed the issues that have soured his opinion on California!

The conversation between Aaron Rodgers and Rogan touched upon the fights scheduled for the UFC 298 event. Rodgers mentioned that some good fights are coming up which prompted Rogan to exclaim, “Volkanovski Ilia Topuria fight, that’s next week. That’s a big one.”
Rogan then gave his thoughts on more matchups from the event including the Robert Whittaker vs Paulo Costa fight and the clash between Geoff Neal and Ian Garry. Rodgers, curious to learn if Rogan would be commentating the event, inquired, “That’s in Anaheim, are you doing that fight?”

This led to Rogan stating, “Yes sir, it’s one of the rare times I go back to that communist sh*thole commonly known as California”, highlighting his reluctance to go back to the state.
He also revealed, “That f*king place is so crazy, you can’t get these, I had a friend, my friend Moshe was over here the other day and he was like… You can’t get flavored nicotine! Imagine, you can’t get flavored nicotine!”. Despite his grievances with California, Rogan’s commitment to his role in the UFC 298 broadcast underscores his professionalism and dedication to the sport of mixed martial arts!

But this isn’t the only time Rogan has come out to slam the state as in a prior episode of the JRE, he revealed why he chose to move to Austin!

Joe Rogan, a prominent figure in the MMA world and Hollywood, once called Los Angeles home. But now, he’s enjoying a quieter life away from the city’s hustle and bustle. During a conversation with comedian Bobby Lee on the JRE episode no. 2090, he explained why he had grown disenchanted with Los Angeles and the state of California over the years.

He revealed, “Austin people are great people. They’re really nice. They’re not sh*theads. They are not Hollywood people.”
The podcast host also highlighted the tax benefits in Austin compared to LA, the manageable traffic, and, most importantly, a lack of “Hollywood people”. This insight into Rogan’s perspective offers a glimpse into his evolving priorities and the factors shaping his lifestyle choices.
