“RIP”, “My Heart Was Broken” – Rafael Fiziev and UFC Fans Mourn the Loss of MMA Star

A 23-year-old Iranian up-and-comer, Fariyar Aminipourwho debuted with a win and continued winning, amassing a 4-fight winning streak—reportedly passed away in an accident in Phuket, Thailand. According to Phuket News, the 23-year-old ONE FC star was involved in an accident near the exit of the tunnel on the west side of Chaofa Road in Rawai, Phuket around 8 AM.

When police arrived at the scene of the incident, they found Fariyar Aminipour’s body lying beside a damaged Yamaha motorcycle. The police report suggests that Aminipour lost control of the bike and collided with the curb before crashing. His body was initially taken to Chalong Hospital in an ambulance where he was announced dead. Later, his body was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for autopsy. The official profile of his gym made an official statement.

The 23-year-old Iranian trained at the renowned Tiger Muay Thai gym. They expressed their deepest condolences and wrote, “It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of @fariyar_aminipour 💔 Since joining our team in late 2022 with only amateur fighting experience, the extremely talented Fariyar skyrocketed in the professional Muay Thai world, defeating huge names of the sport on ONE Lumpinee events and becoming a top 10 ranked fighter.”

The gym members were heartbroken with his untimely demise. The message continued, “At only 23 years old, lion-hearted Fariyar had already accomplished so much, and was well on track to achieving his dream of becoming a ONE world champion. Gone far, far too soon due to a tragic accident, Fariyar will be missed greatly and will remain in all of our thoughts 🙏.”

Aminipour was only beginning to make strides in the industry when fate changed for the worse. In his brief stint at the ONE Friday Fights series, his wins came at the expense of some high-profile opponents. For instance, last year, he beat reigning Rebels super featherweight champion Hiroki Suzuki by decision along with another decision win over Ferrari Fairtex champion at Thailand’s Channel 7 Stadium. Like Ferrari, another champion at Thailand’s Channel 7 Stadium named Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon was defeated by a young Aminipour at ONE Friday Fights 22.

Aminipour suffered his first loss in his last fight against Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai via a knockout. He hoped to make a comeback in 2024, but fate changed things. Despite his first career loss, he had gained recognition for defeating formidable opponents, earning a spot in the top 10 rankings.

Fans and fellow fighters, including UFC lightweight star Rafael Fiziev mourned the loss of the talented fighter, who fought under the ONE Championship banner.

UFC lightweight star, Rafael Fiziev was one of the most notable names who was affected by the death of Fariyar Aminipour. He commented, “Ya Rab,” expressing his sorrow for the loss of the 23-year-old.

Aminipour had fought 5 times for ONE Championship and won 4 of his bouts. He surely would have looked forward to winning more. But with this unfortunate accident, his fans were also left heartbroken by the news about Aminipour. “My brother. My heart was broken”, “RIP”, “I can not believe it.”

Like so many others, fans claimed that the young MMA star left too early since he had the talent and a lot of potential to become a big star in the future. “Far too soon, “NO WAY. HE WAS TOO YOUNG AND TALENTED.”

Some fans believe that Aminipour had no limit to how good he could have become in MMA. “RIP. so sad because he had no limits.” Furthermore, a person who trained with him commented that he’d forever be in his memories. “Brother RIP I will never forget training with fariyar.”

With an impressive start to his career, the question regarding how good Fariyar Aminipour could have become and if we could have seen him in the UFC will always remain unanswered.
