Some of the top fighters who train under Nurmagomedov are Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov, and Tagir Ulanbekov among others. Recently, another Khabib Nurmagomedov protégé made his mark on the sport with a brilliant debut in the ONE Championship.

Saygid Izagakhmaev recently signed with ONE Championship and fought his debut fight in January 2022. He fought American fighter James Nakashima and convincingly defeated him in the second round via submission.

The 27-year-old threw his opponent on the canvas and instantly pounced on the opportunity to dominate him. After that, he kept Nakashima under control and tried to roll him over and make him submit. Eventually, he did.

Izagakhmaev applied a Brabo choke on the American fighter and he tapped out instantly as the grip grew tighter.

Recently, Malki Kawa’s First Round Management agency has been in some controversy. It also manages former UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal. A UFC fighter managed by Abdelaziz recently called out Masvidal’s agency for trying to hijack him from Abdelaziz’s Dominance MMA management.

Shortly after, another UFC fighter, Manel Kape, wrote a tweet attacking the First Round Management agency. Notably, Abdelaziz also managed Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Kape wrote in his tweet, “Unfortunately they don’t do a Management job, they’re just a collector of athletes’ money. I’ve been with them and I can say that the lack of organization is abysmal. I had to fight, organize all the paperwork that ufc sent, anyway. You want to ruin your career, join them …”

Ali Abdelaziz is one of the biggest agents in the MMA world. Previously, Conor McGregor verbally attacked him during the build-up of his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
