Khabib Nurmagomedov is known for his wrestling skills apart from retiring undefeated. However, Bo Nickal thinks the Dagestani wouldn’t last more than 30 seconds in a wrestling match with him.

Nickal recently made his MMA debut with Jorge Masvidal’s iKON Fighting Championship. He successfully knocked out his opponent in the first round. It took him just 33 seconds to do so. Hence, his professional debut was nothing less than perfect.

The MMA fighter, who has been a freestyle wrestler, talked to ‘GiveMeSport‘ about a hypothetical wrestling match against Khabib Nurmagomedov. He said, “To be 100 percent honest with you, if I were to ever wrestle Khabib, Khabib wouldn’t last more than 30 seconds against me in a wrestling match.”

“Maybe 60 seconds, tops.”

These comments hit a sensitive nerve among Nurmagomedov’s fans. As a result, he received many reactions. In a recent conversation with media personality Ariel Helwani, Nickal spoke about the comments he received for his statement.

Nickal said, “Yeah, I mean a lot of people were like just, like they don’t understand. Like they don’t understand what I’m saying. … I think that more than anything, it’s not really an opinion, it’s a fact. It’s like, what I compared it to was, the guy asked me about beat Khabib in a wrestling match.”

“And I’m like ‘dude, I wrestled my whole life. That’s like asking me if I’m going to stop a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty kick. Like, I’m not going to stop it… he’s going to hit that a 100 out of 100 times. Maybe one time he hits the crossbar. But, like, I’m not touching the ball. It’s the same thing,” he added.

Did Bo Nickal not like the Khabib Nurmagomedov question?

The fighter further went on to state he didn’t like the Nurmagomedov question. The reason is that he didn’t want to sound like a ‘jerk’.

Nickal went on to state that he has respect for the UFC’s undefeated champion. However, wrestling is Nickal’s sport; something he has done his entire life. Thus, he was of the opinion that he would be able to out-wrestle ‘The Eagle’ who has not competed in wrestling.
