The fighter is famous for his slick-talking and his notorious swagger, which has helped him become the biggest superstar in the UFC. As of March 2022, McGregor stands ninth in the UFC’s lightweight rankings.

Recently, McGregor took to Twitter to share his thoughts on buying the prestigious soccer club, Chelsea FC. Chelsea was put up for sale by the Russian billionaire owner, Roman Abramovich recently and the asking price for it was 3 billion pounds. On hearing this, Conor took to Twitter and wrote,I wish to explore this.”

He also shared a picture in which he said,” Chelsea for sale £3 bn… Lets buy it,”

Conor McGregor has a reported net worth of 200 million dollars, which, clearly is not enough to buy the European football club. The only way the Irishman could be able to be an owner of Chelsea FC is if he lands a wealthy enough partner to buy the club with him.

Twitter users didn’t hold back from commenting when they saw Conor McGregor’s interest in buying the soccer club. This hasn’t been the first time that McGregor showed interest in buying a football club, he also was interested in purchasing Manchester United FC.

One user wrote,” Conor can you afford Haaland though??” Erling Haaland is a young Norwegian football sensation who is considered one of the best strikers in the world right now. His transfer price is reported to be over £250 million. Which is more than McGregor’s net worth.

Another user mocked McGregor’s loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov and wrote,” We only want winners here fella.”

One of the users put up a picture of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku with McGregor’s whiskey brand, ‘Proper Twelve‘  on his shirt, and captioned it, “Chelsea next season.”
