Liverpool Football Club greatly impressed the sporting community by claiming the Premier League Trophy. It was indeed an important year for the football club as the team bid farewell to Jürgen Klopp, their former manager. And to celebrate their big win, the team hopped onto an iconic red bus and paraded the town with the Premier League trophy in their hands. However, little did they know that the celebrations would soon turn into a tragedy.

As the celebrations continued with red all around, a car ran over several pedestrians on Water Street. Of course, the public stopped the car quickly, and the police detained the suspect. But the damage was already done. The ambulance service revealed that 27 people were hospitalized. Among the injured, 4 were children, and 1 of them was seriously injured. On top of that, 20 other people were treated at the scene. Needless to say, it was a black day for the Liverpudlians.

Soon, the visuals of the terrible incident went viral on the internet. And Conor McGregor decided to console the affected. ‘Mystic Mac’ seemingly had no words to speak. All he dropped was one heart emoji and one folded hands emoji, along with a picture that showed the emblem of Liverpool FC with two candles burning up front. Even LeBron James was heartbroken with the news. And of course, being a Liverpudlian himself, Paddy Pimblett had to offer a few words.

Taking to Instagram, ‘The Baddy’ dropped a message for his fellow townsfolk. No doubt, he was pretty impressed with the parade proceedings at first. It was also a special moment, as it was his baby’s first-ever parade. But these pleasant feelings didn’t last long. He wrote, “Still cannot believe what actually happened after it, a day of celebration turned into a worry for everyone who was there or even knew anybody there, friends and family messaging to make sure that they are safe something that we shouldn’t have to do or worry about. I hope anyone injured has a fast recovery and anyone affected already knows they have the full city supporting them, red or blue it doesn’t matter. Things like this are more important than football. YNWA.”

Pimblett is definitely a huge fan of football. Hailing from the land of Liverpool certainly has that effect on people. But do you know that one of Pimblett’s dreams is to unite his love for football with his love for martial arts? Let’s take a look at it.

Paddy Pimblett dreams of fighting in a stadium to reflect on his love for Liverpool and football

3 years ago, during a conversation with TNT Sports while reflecting on the Champions League memories, Pimblett said, “We’re going to have a cage in the middle of this pitch, one June, July when the season’s finished, we’re going to have Anfield packed out. Every seat filled, all the grass with seats on and the cage in the middle, and I’ll be lifting a world title in the middle of there. I know for a fact I will. I’ve seen it in my future already.”

What’s your perspective on:

Can Liverpool's spirit overcome this tragedy, or will it cast a long shadow over their victory?

He dreamed that there would be a PPV night where the UFC would be featured at the Annfield Stadium. The ground would be roaring as the fans would cheer on their favorites. But will it really happen? ‘The Baddy’ went on, “I’m still a young lad. I’ve still got at least another 10 years of fighting in me, and over those 10 years, we will fill this stadium out with fight fans. We will, it’s coming, it’s happening. I know it’s going to happen. Like I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again, it’s my destiny. I’ve seen it in my future. I’ll be holding a world title up, in the middle of a UFC cage, in that arena. Well – arena – that f—— stadium, Anfield, the Mecca for Liverpool fans.”

Nevertheless, the tragedy is indeed heartbreaking. But one simply cannot take away the passion for football from the Liverpudlians. And ‘The Baddy’ is certainly one such entity. With his dream to fill up an arena with fans during one of his UFC bouts still active, he has certainly made quite some big moves in the lightweight division. However, with the recent accident at the parade still fresh, Pimblett offered his condolences to those who suffered in the tragedy.

The world has indeed taken a sigh of relief as the police confirmed that it wasn’t an act of terrorism. But the wound is still fresh. And before Pimblett gets to fight at Anfield, we might actually witness him helping his community at the stadium, don’t you think? Let us know what you think of the incident in the comments down below.
