The UFC is the biggest mixed martial arts promotion in the world. It has made the sport of MMA popular even among people that were never interested in it. As MMA is now mainstream, one can spot huge names and celebrities at the events. This helps the company reach even more people that aren’t into it and increases the market.
Now, it seems like stars from other sports are casually making MMA references. Australian tennis star, Thanasi Kokkinakis, was the latest one to do so. He did so while replying to fellow countryman and his doubles partner at the Australian Open, Nick Kyrgios.
Both men secured a fantastic upset win over the top seeds, Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic, in the second round. However, after the match, the coach and trainer of the Croatian pair threatened to fight Kyrgios and Kokkinakis.
