Combat sports fans have been speculating about UFC versus WWE ever since the MMA promotion’s parent company, Endeavor, bought WWE for $9.3 billion. Together, the sports company is worth $21 billion. Now that both Vince McMahon and Dana White will be under the same roof, fans are expecting a crossover between the two promotions. However, after the UFC-WWE merger, the executive chairman of WWE, McMahon, has made it clear that he could not be seeking input in creative decisions. Nonetheless, WWE star Dolph Ziggler is looking forward to a bout against UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Now that WrestleMania 39 has come to an end, ‘The Showoff’ is looking for something interesting that can help him make a fortune. The last time Ziggler showed his wild presence inside the squared circle was against Otis in 2020. He feels that it would be a great idea for him to lock horns with the Irishman, as the best of both worlds means more profit. Nonetheless, after Endeavor bought WWE, many fighters from both promotions feel that it is inevitable.

Conor McGregor versus Dolph Ziggler

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion was talking with TMZ Sports. During the conversation, he said, Yeah, WWE and UFC, and he’s called us out a couple of times, so I appreciate that, and I can go a little bit, so I would still do it. Make it a best-of-three, octagon, boxing match, wrestling, fighting, WWE. Then set it all up for the [best-of-three] at WrestleMania. I mean, that’s just where the money is, but not everybody can go and back it up, but some of us can.

Ziggler also believes that it is the perfect time to come up with a crossover, as fans are eagerly waiting for the same. Moreover, he believes that such a crossover can bring a lot of money to everyone involved.

Dana White rules out the possibility of a crossover

On April 3, 2023, the UFC superstar, Conor McGregor, posted a picture of him holding the UFC and WWE Championship belts. Along with the post, he wrote “It’s inevitable“.

He posted the photo just before Endeavor bought WWE. When both these incidents took place within a day’s span, fans believed that a crossover was what McGregor was talking about.

However, the UFC boss, Dana White, has ruled out any such possibility. He stated that WWE is scripted and mainly focuses on entertainment, whereas UFC showcases real sporting contests.
