Marlon Vera and Themba Gorimbo, a pair of fighters who turned out to be incredibly wholesome. Everyone knows by now how Gorimbo has had to wade through troubled waters in his personal life. The fighter recently made headlines after WWE and Hollywood superstar Dwayne Johnson showed him a grand gesture of appreciation.

Now, it’s ‘Chito’ Vera’s turn. The fighter is one of the top ten fighters in the bantamweight division. He recently went viral for saying some pretty interesting things about the USADA on a podcast. Turns out, when he’s not invoking controversy with the USADA, he’s helping out Themba Gorimbo with wholesome gestures.

Themba Gorimbo reveals how Marlon Vera helped out his village in Zimbabwe

Recently, Themba Gorimbo was gifted a house by none other than Dwayne Johnson in a move that received much applause from the world. Themba Gorimbo had a tough upbringing and wanted to look out for his family and his village back in Zimbabwe. He decided to use the money he made from his fights to help out his community. This desire of his moved many including Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera.

“Thank you so much Son of Gorimbo, who would have known you would do something as big as this, giving us water!” a community member of Gorimbo’s celebrates as she talks into the camera. “We had struggled in this area. We were the only place without water whilst others had vast waters. You have remembered us our Son.”

The video has warmed the hearts of many fans of the fighters and so many others as well. Vera donated the means and funds for the village to have a borehole. Gorimbo’s village has long suffered from a lack of viable drinking water. Now, with the help of him and Vera, they can finally have this basic need fulfilled.

How did Gorimbo’s struggle inspire The Rock and Vera?

Before his win at UFC Vegas 73, Gorimbo had nothing but about $7 in his pocket. His coach allowed him to sleep on the gym’s couch while he trained. All of this happened all the while the fighter trained hard and fought.

It caught Johnson’s eye when Gorimbo sold his fight kit to help install a bush pump in his village. Recently, Gorimbo has also been busy installing boreholes in the community. His manager helped him get in touch with ‘Chito’ who ended up donating a borehole to his community. Now, his village celebrates as Gorimbo prepares to keep up his efforts in the UFC.
