Hulk Hogan regrets a huge mistake he made in the past. If Hogan hadn’t made the mistake, the history of the UFC would be something different. Many years ago, Hogan and Vince McMahon had the opportunity to buy the UFC. However, they “passed” the offer, as it felt like a terrible idea back then. The WWE Hall of Famer now understands that things would have been totally different if he had gone forward and taken the risk. Hogan decided not to buy the promotion because of its violent nature.

Presently, things have drastically changed, and the UFC has grown into a multi-billion-dollar empire. In 2001, the net worth of the promotion was just $2 million, but later, UFC president Dana White build it into a $12 billion-worth MMA promotion. Earlier this year, WWE and the UFC  got combined under the same umbrella. The parent company of the UFC, Endeavor Group Holding Inc., bought WWE for $9.3 billion. Hogan now regrets the decision he made back then, as he lost a lot of money.

 The WWE legend was talking on the podcast ‘This Past Weekend’. During the conversation, he detailed how he would have been a significant part of the UFC’s history. He said, “There was an opportunity to buy it [UFC] a long time ago and Vince [McMahon] and I passed on it.”

He further added, “It was before the referees stopped things, and they were kicking people when they were on the ground, and it just was so violent when it was brought to us. That was a huge mistake.Hogan, who played a major role in the success of WWE in the 1980s and early 1990s, never realized that he was making such a huge mistake.

Reports had emerged years earlier that Hogan received an offer from the UFC.

Did Hogan receive an offer from the UFC?

Years ago, The 69-year-old took the combat sports world by storm by declaring that he got an offer from the UFC to join as a fighter. However, the WWE Hall of Famer turned down the opportunity because he was not okay with the violence involved in each fight. Later, Campbell McLaren came forward to state that Hogan’s claim was not true and that the UFC never wanted the WWE legend to be a part of the promotion.

McLaren took to his Twitter handle and tweeted, “@joerogan  Joe I never wanted Hulk Hogan in UFC. No one asked him.
