Before Conor McGregor, multi-time UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen was the king of trash talk in the promotion. After his retirement and conversion to sports analyst, it appeared Sonnen took the high road. However, his recent tweet about a NASCAR Cup Series motor race will ruffle some feathers among the fans of the sport.

‘The Bad Guy’ posted a tweet about the Daytona 500 event and looked to live up to his moniker.

The 45-year-old wrote, I’m enjoying the frustration by folks who thought the Daytona 500 was a competition as opposed to scripted entertainment. The theories you have Of driving and it’s “techniques” are Precious.”

Sonnen even brought the world’s richest man and CEO of Tesla, who once took a dig at F1, into the equation; “Pray to God in heaven above that @elonmusk does not enter a Tesla.”

The electric cars’ juggernaut, Musk, has shown no interest in entering the NASCAR field. However, who knew he could pull off a $43 billion Twitter deal in no time? Thus, ruling out the possibility wouldn’t be the best idea.

The motive behind Sonnen’s tweet was a mystery. Though, such a claim is not a new thing for the former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight challenger.

Thus, Sonnen making wild claims is something MMA fans are used to. But for the NASCAR fans, it could be an outrageous statement.
