A legend in his own right, Anderson Silva is nearing the end of what has been a Hall of Fame career. The UFC has paired him against Uriah Hall for what Dana White claims to be his last fight. However, if Silva’s coach is to be believed, then the former middleweight champ should run it back with the current champ Israel Adesanya.

Anderson Silva’s current plan was to fight out his contract with the UFC. That would mean that he would still have one fight left after he fights Hall. However, ‘The Spider’s’ longtime trainer Rogerio Camoes feels that the 45-year-old Brazilian still has more to give to the game.

I’m not aware of the negotiations,” Camoes said while talking to MMA Fighting. “But, to me, speaking as Anderson’s coach, Anderson still has plenty of wood to burn, brother. Believe it. From what he’s doing in terms of performance in training, he still has wood to burn.”

Anderson Silva has been involved in several massive fights during his record-breaking run as the 185-pound champ. Therefore, his coach believes that if ‘The Spider’ doesn’t end his career on a high note, then it wouldn’t be fair to his legendary career.

Coach believes Israel Adesanya vs Anderson Silva was one of the most technical fights

Anderson Silva met the current UFC middleweight champ, Israel Adesanya, last February. In what was a passing of the torch moment, the former champ went toe-to-toe against the future champ in a three-round fight that went to the judges’ scorecard. Following this fight, ‘The Last Stylebender’ would go on to win the interim middleweight belt followed by the undisputed one as well.

Silva vs Adesanya was a striking chess match that brought back the memories of a prime Anderson Silva. While ‘Izzy’ was clearly the better fighter, ‘The Spider’ showed that he could hang in there with anyone as long as both fighters are on their feet.

I think I’ve seen Anderson fight everybody,” Anderson Silva’s coach said. “I think that, in his division, the only fight that I personally would love to see again is him and Israel Adesanya. That fight was fabulous. Three spectacular rounds.

“Israel had to fight hard. It was one of the most technical fights I’ve ever seen in MMA history. Two talents, they put on a show of martial arts and respect. A second fight would be something spectacular.

The possibility of a rematch between the two is almost negligible. Adesanya is the divisional kingpin who has an active beef with the former light heavyweight champ Jon Jones. Silva, despite being a legend, doesn’t fit anywhere in the picture.
