Jorge Masvidal became the latest UFC fighter after Jon Jones to call out the UFC over pay issues. The BMF Champion accused the UFC of making him fight for half of what he made in his last fight. Following that he put out a series of tweets claiming disrespect. This prompted Dana White to slam ‘Gamebred’ as well as Jon Jones.

Dana White slams BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal

Masvidal tweeted, At the time and lets be real didn’t have to fight him. Fastest Ko in the history of ufc. Msg I am asked to fight 3 different guys and I said yes to all three. I fought in backyards and those dudes never disrespected me the way I’m being now.”

He also used the iconic dialogue by Heath Ledger’s ‘The Joker’.

Dana White was hounded for a response to this at the UFC 250 faceoff session. The UFC President said to MMA Junkie, “I think everybody wants more money in all these other sports.”

Following this White responded severely to Gamebred’s tweet on Fight Island. He said, “You’ve got enough money to buy islands? Let me repeat for the f**king billionth time. I did not buy a Island, ok? We did not buy an Island.”

Next, the UFC President explained his stance on Fight Island.

“The reason we’re doing the Island is so that fights can go and these kids from Europe and the rest of the world can make money and can work. I think a lot of people are really… frustrated and confused, or whatever the situation is right now.”

Finally, he reiterated his stance on fighters not wanting to fight. He uses comparisons with major American leagues to drive home his point and claims he cannot force any fighter to do anything.

“You don’t have to fight. Anybody that doesn’t want to fight doesn’t have to fight, including Masvidal and Jon Jones and all these other guys. It doesn’t have to be cause of the pandemic. These guys are independent contractors. These guys can do whatever they want. They can say whatever they want.”

“We’re not asking anyone to fight. We’re offering fights because in our contract, I have to give you three fights a year. You have the ability to turn them down and not take them.”
