Less than two weeks ago, nobody knew of Khamzat Chimaev. But the Chechnya-born MMA fighter became a sensation in merely 10 days. His UFC record now stands at 2-0 and perhaps the winning streak will continue for long. However, the other part of his story has Conor McGregor, and so it rightly has some heat.

Khamzat goes with the nickname ‘Borz’ because it means a Wolf in Chechnya (the national animal). Wolves are intelligent animals, and his fight IQ reflects just that. He has extraordinary grappling skills, and taming him will never come easy. Is this why the retired (as of now) Conor noticed his growth?

Conor McGregor and Khamzat Chimaev

The official UFC Instagram page dropped a video of the post-fight interview with Khamzat Chimaev. We heard Khamzat claiming, “Everybody know[s] these guys are not my level.” He went on with it,  “I can fight in one hour, if somebody is interested, tell me, I am here in Abu Dhabi.”

As per RT.com, Conor’s IG handle @thenotoriousmma commented on it saying, “Rat lip”. The comment was allegedly deleted later. But it came into the attention of thousands of users and somebody managed to take a screenshot.

Whether Conor made that remark to mock the rising talent is a matter for another day. However, Khamzat chose to respond in his own way. He took no time in posting a picture where he is forcing John Phillips to submit. He tagged Conor in it, maybe because this was how Khabib Nurmagomedov had submitted the Irishman in UFC 229.

Borz is hungry for a chicken treat!

Khamzat cunningly used a chicken emoji alongside a silent emoji when tagging the retired former champion. One can only guess that he wants the chicken (as per him) to keep quiet. However, he did not stop at that. He also posted a tweet where he demanded the UFC President Dana White give him a fight.

MMA/Boxing writer Kevin Iole also tweeted something interesting on the same line.

He had also shown interest in fighting Mike Perry and Demian Maia. The Russian also told MMA Junkie, “Of course it’s easy for me. … I like to fight, taking the cage and smash somebody. It’s too easy. Too easy to smash somebody and get money. Perfect for me.” Now compare these words with the words of Conor when he retired, citing that he does not find the game exciting anymore.

If not soon, we might see these two hotheads fight one another if things keep going in the same fashion. What are your views on this?
