“At 16 He Wrestled With The Senior Team”- Daniel Cormier Says Underestimating Henry Cejudo is a Huge Mistake

Daniel Cormier will be part of UFC 249, but, he won’t be fighting. Instead, he will be part of the team calling the event. ‘DC’ is excited about this and said, I wouldn’t miss watching two of my favorite people in the world fight for the Bantamweight title. Dominick Cruz and Henry Cejudo. Two of the most elite athletes of all time and two of the most elite personalities in the game.”

He knows Cejudo from their days at the 2008 Olympic training camp and commented on the Bantamweight Champion’s ‘King of Cringe’ persona.

“People almost take him like not serious. That would be the biggest mistake you can ever make in your life. This is a kid that left Arizona at the age of 16 to live in the Olympic training center to live at our training camp. He even wrestled with the adults in the senior team and would go wrestle in the high school matches.”

“That dude’s real men and if Dominick believes this kid has been coddled that’s a problem. Because this dude has always been one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met. With that being said, the cringe thing is part of an act, but that’s who Henry is.

“Imagine being a 15-year-old kid and you’re uprooted from Arizona and put into the Olympic program right. Your high school experience isn’t the same. So all the things Dominick did, Henry didn’t have to because he was his protege who was getting groomed to be an Olympian. So, of course, that’s going to come with some differences. He is a little bit different. His experiences are different from everybody else”

Dominick Cruz will make his return to the Octagon after 40 months. In his last fight at UFC 207, he lost the Bantamweight Championship to Cody Garbrandt. Now, he is the lucky replacement as ‘The Messenger’s original opponent Jose Aldo was unable to travel.

Cruz said that ‘The Messenger’ has a habit of saying things just to get the hype. However, based on ‘DC’s words and our analysis of ‘The Messenger’s career trajectory Cruz fans will hope he does not take the champion lightly and become the first victim of ‘Triple C’s legend rampage?
