UFC pulled off a great event at Las Vegas, the first in the city under the spell of the pandemic. In the post-fight conference, Dana White expressed his happiness with how smoothly things are going.

However, there was one question that struck a chord for Dana. He has been involved in an altercation with Jon Jones for the past few days. After Dana claimed that he has text messages to prove that Jones demanded an unreasonable sum of money, Jones claimed that Dana was lying. “Bones” asked Dana to tell his lawyer to release the texts.

When a journalist asked Dana about where the situation stands and who’s lying, Dana said,

“What do you do? What do you believe? It’s up to you guys. What do I gain out of lying about it? Why would I lie? It doesn’t matter.”

Dana also said that he had his lawyer, Hunter Campbell, have a talk with Jones. Apparently, the two share a great relationship.

“He’s really close to Jon Jones and likes him. And they have a good relationship. They had a really good talk yesterday. But it is what it is. I really don’t care. Couldn’t care less, to be honest with you. I’m always looking at what Jon Jones could have been. He could have been the LeBron [James] of this sport. He really could have been that big. For stuff that he’s been through, to show up and basically demand $15 million or $20 million or $30 million? It’s crazy! So he can do whatever he wants to do. He can sit out, [or] he can fight. You know how this works. You guys know how I am. Jon Jones can say whatever he wants.”

Dana White says that Jon Jones was unwilling to negotiate terms

Ever since the whole banter took off, many fans asked why Dana can’t pay Jones what he is demanding. After all, Dana does state that Jones is the real GOAT according to him. Here’s what Dana had to say about that:

“Being the greatest of all time does not mean he will get $30 million. [It’s] being able to sell. In one of his Tweets he said I tarnished him [his image]. I tarnished you?! You’ve done a very good job of tarnishing [yourself]. I haven’t done that.”

Dana may have a valid point, especially in light of Jones’ recent arrest. His multiple scuffles with the law and doping frauds have permanently marred his otherwise phenomenal career.

Dana also revealed that in the conversation with Jones, Hunter offered Jones to come in and walk through the numbers. However, Jones is allegedly unwilling to compromise on his supposed demands. Dana said,

“Hunter told him, ‘You can come in here and walk through the numbers.’ He [Jones] said, ‘I don’t give a f*ck what the numbers are! I want what I want. That’s it!’ That’s not how life works. Why don’t you guys fly back and tell you bosses, ‘F*ck what this company makes! This is what I want. You’re gonna give it to me.’ See how that f**kin works out for you.”

Strong words coming in from the UFC Boss. It looks like both Dana and Jones are going to remain adamant about their own realities.

Whose reality do you think will come out as the truth? Do you agree with what Dana White has to say?
