UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker fired back Bellator MMA’s featherweight champion, Patricio Freire, in a recent tweet.
Dana White’s comments on Scott Coker and Bellator almost started a war on social media. Several Bellator fighters went on Twitter to express their displeasure with White. And many of them even challenged their UFC counterparts. Recently, Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Freire issued a $1 million challenge to Dana White.
He then followed up with another tweet aimed at UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker and the reigning featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski.

Bellator vs UFC: Will it ever happen?
There is no doubt that fans would love to see UFC and Bellator athletes fight it out in a cross-promotional event. However, it is easier said than done. The UFC is a giant organization compared to Bellator. Getting the MMA leader to agree to a cross-promotional event will be very difficult, especially when they have less to gain and more to lose.
Moreover, Dana White does not think Bellator has the talent that can compete with the UFC. During the ESPN 15 post-fight press conference, Dana White said:
“Guys, everybody they have in their light heavyweight division we let go of. He’s got the best light heavyweight division? We let those guys all go. It’s like the f**king dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. But I get it. He’s got to f**king do his thing. I’m not s**tting on him. He’s got to try to do his thing. He’s got to try to sell fights.”

Obviously, White’s statements are not 100% accurate as many skilled fighters and champions exist in Bellator.
Another issue with cross-promotional events could be the drugs testing program. The UFC has spent millions of dollars on USADA. Bellator, on the other hand, does not have elaborate anti-doping measures in place like its rival. Figuring out this part of the puzzle will take a lot of work.

As of now, getting these two organizations together seems like an impossible task.
