Former UFC title challenger Francis Ngannou gave his opinion on legendary boxer Mike Tyson’s return.

Tyson and Ngannou are somewhat similar. “Iron Mike” was known for his debilitating knockout power during his prime. And Ngannou is the most dangerous fighter on the planet. Surprisingly, both men are huge fans of each other.

“The Predator” grew up watching Tyson and even wanted to become a boxer, whereas the latter seems to like the former’s style of fighting. As a result, Tyson has shared a couple of techniques and ideas with Francis in the past.

Francis Ngannou may not be available to help Mike Tyson

Although Ngannou has shown interest in helping Tyson, he may not get to do so. During a recent chat with Ariel Helwani, Ngannou said he does not know when he will return to the United States.

“I wanted to [corner Mike Tyson], but I was in the US and I don’t know when I will be back in Vegas. Then I will see what’s possible.”

When asked about his thoughts on Tyson’s comeback fight against Roy Jones Jr., Ngannou stated that he is not a fan. However, he feels that Tyson is sound enough to know what’s good for him.

“It’s up to him, it’s how he feels. You know, like… I mean, he’s somebody who grew up in the ring. So like staying back and be a spectator for a very long time… Sometimes you want the feeling. This thing will make him [feel] alive. I might not like it. But he knows what he’s doing.”

Originally, Tyson was supposed to compete with Jones on September 12. But it was later postponed to November 28. And as for Ngannou, he last fought against Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 249 and is next in line to fight for the UFC heavyweight championship.

But before that, he will take part in an exhibition match with a comedian.
