Francis Ngannou vs Dillian Whyte started as a fantasy fight. Nevertheless, the rivalry picked up momentum after Whyte belittled Ngannou’s performance against Derrick Lewis. Whyte called Ngannou a “coward” for not engaging in the match.
Ngannou, on the other hand, didn’t talk a lot of trash. Since he barely gets to fight in the UFC, the Cameroonian native will welcome any fight at this time. Recently, he accepted Whyte’s challenge.

It is difficult to make this fight happen. Both fighters are from different sports and different promotions. However, Whyte suggested a solution.
“I’m a fair guy,” Whyte said on Talk Sport’s Fight Night. “I said ‘we can do a boxing fight and an MMA fight.’ “

Dillian Whyte wants to knock out Francis Ngannou
Whyte wants Matchroom Sport to hold the boxing match between the two. And the UFC to conduct the MMA fight. It is worth noting that Whyte is no stranger to the sport of MMA. He has one MMA win under his belt which ended in a quick KO. Additionally, he also has a 20-1 kickboxing record under K-1.

“Obviously we would host the boxing fight and Dana can host the MMA fight. Then it is an equal opportunity for both of us. Obviously, Francis believes he has got the edge in MMA and I know I’ve got the edge in boxing so I was willing to step into his territory as long as he is willing to step into my territory unlike a lot of these other guys.”

Further, Whyte said that people are just scared. He claimed that he is not scared and will fight anytime, anywhere. Moreover, Whyte stated his intentions of knocking Francis out in a boxing match. And then giving him a fair shot in MMA.

“I want to beat him at his own game as well, I don’t want to just control him at my game. I want to be able to knock out Francis in boxing and then give him a chance to have a shot in MMA and I will beat him in both. And no-one else in history has done that, so that’s what I am about – I always want to make history man.”
Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport has also shown interest in pairing up the two. Hearn revealed that he has been in contact with UFC President, Dana White to make it work.
