Dana White has possibly found the next title contender for the bantamweight world title against Petr Yan. ‘No Mercy’  Yan has got plenty of names ahead, for his first title defense in the promotion.

However, it appears that Aljamain Sterling is the to-gunner on the line. UFC administrators are yet to set up the duo against each other onwards.

Yet, UFC chief Dana White has assured that the ‘Funk Master’ is the most possible contender to challenge Yan for the bantamweight world title at this point.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Dana White was asked to put some light on his plans regarding the bantamweight division. Not to forget, it is one of the most stellar rosters in UFC right now.

However, Sterling is clearly in his mind. “I am pretty sure it is. (laughs). We would have announced it by now, but it’s more likely to be Aljamain Sterling”, said White.

No wonder the ‘Funkmaster’ has had accepted the offer wholeheartedly. Noting Dana White’s minor hesitance, Sterling took to Twitter and said that there’s no doubt about him getting the title shot.

The ‘Funkmaster’ claims to have earned his shot and tags it to be his time to realize a dream. He also sent a special message to Yan, notifying him about their upcoming contest.

“About time!! I’m coming for you soon, my Russian friend,” wrote Sterling on Twitter.

The duo has had a hard time in the cage until Yan unloaded an all-out assault to seal the victory via knockout.

Meanwhile, Sterling has been unbeaten since the past three years, riding a five-fight win steak. Although he is yet to be the official title challenger, no one would make more sense than him at this point.
