It seems like a doomed show for the UFC in Vegas. First, we got the news of the fight between Gerald Meerschaert and Ed Herman getting canceled because they tested the former COVID positive. Then we now have the shocking news coming which says that Trevin Giles fainted backstage at the UFC Vegas 5.

As per Brendan Fitzgerald on the broadcast, Giles was rushed to a local hospital and his bout was canceled as a precautionary measure even while he was ready to fight. The UFC President Dana White spoke to Yahoo Sports and said, “He’s all right, but we can’t have him fight when that happens.”

Trevin Giles vs Kevin Holland canceled!

The 27-YO Giles is a Houston Police Officer cum MMA fighter with a 12-2 overall record and 3-2 in the UFC. In an event of last moment changes, Giles was actually not supposed to face Kevin. He was, in fact, about to fight Jun Yong Park. But that fight was later replaced.

Earlier, he had told MMA Junkie, “He has a very carefree fight style so I expect him to be like that, and I expect him to use his length and for him to be relaxed and trying to have fun and it’s gonna be my job to not let him do that.”

But a recent update from the UFC says, “Some breaking news here, Trevin Giles was just in the hallway getting ready to make the walk fainted, the commission has scrapped this fight. It will no longer go on. I will bring you an update later. We believe it was just nerves but unfortunately for Kevin Holland, this fight is off.”

What is next for Kevin Holland?

Kevin had challenged Ed Herman for a fight a few hours ago. Both the fighters had their respective bouts canceled. Hence this seems an option but nothing official has been said on this. He again retweeted his own tweet and said, “I repeat. Knock knock red head. Let’s go bucko”
