BREAKING: UFC Releases Dates for Fight Island Matches

Following immense hype around it, Dana White has made an official confirmation regarding Fight Island. The UFC President revealed the dates of the events on Fight Island. He also clarified all the major logistics issues regarding the island. Dana also confirmed its location, which was the same as revealed by media reports a few days earlier.

The location of Fight Island was rumored to be in Abu Dhabi. Dana confirmed the same and revealed the exact details about it. Fight Island will be on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. This is the same island where UFC 112 took place ten years ago. Fight Island was conceived to put up events where international fighters can fight. Over time, the hype around it has grown exponentially.

“When this whole thing went down, I was trying to figure out how to do events,” Dana said. “So I started talking to different places and Abu Dhabi was open to it. But Abu Dhabi is one of the strictest places in the world right now with the COVID-19 thing. So they’re gonna put us over there on Yas Island. We’re building infrastructure up there. We have a whole plan on how this thing is going to work. “

Fight Island will host events throughout July. The UFC will have events on 11th July, 15th July, 18th July and 25th July. White has earlier said that he plans on living on the island.

Dana White clears up the logistics issue regarding Fight Island

After the revelation of the location and dates, there were also several questions regarding the logistics of the event. White cleared up some of them as well. He said that the island is right off Abu Dhabi. He also said that the island is pretty big. The fighters will have all the facilities at their disposal on the Island itself.

“Everything is going to happen on the island. No in is going to leave the island. They are gonna have their training quarters where they can train. We do have an Octagon on the sand. The infrastructure is going to be unbelievable. When we go there people in Abu Dhabi do everything right. Everything is going to be done beyond your belief,” Dana added.

The UFC is yet to release any fight card completely for the Fight Island as of yet. The UFC is trying to finalize Max Holloway vs Alexander Volkanovski as the main event for UFC 251 which will take place on July 11th.
