BREAKING: Yoel Romero Slated For Exciting Middleweight Clash In August

UFC Middleweight Yoel Romero is reported to take on Uriah Hall on an undetermined card in August. The bout announcement comes along with two other match-ups set to take place on August 8th. The elite strikers are looking to regain their status at the very top of the division.

Yoel Romero is coming off a three-fight skid and will look to go back to winning ways. With an emphatic victory over Hall, ‘The Soldier of God’ can once again ascend his throne as the top contender. Romero put on a disappointing performance in his last outing against Adesanya.

The former Olympian just couldn’t get his game plan off in his title fight and remained inactive. The fight left fans calling for him to retire. The 43-year-old is in the twilight of his career but has proven to be elite even at his age.

Uriah Hall is looking to build off on a two-fight winning streak going into a fight with Romero. Hall has faced difficulties in recent years with many fights going against him. However, ‘Prime Time’ seems to be undergoing a career resurgence and Yoel is always a steep litmus test.

The Ultimate Fighter season 17 runner found massive success early on with incredible performances during the show. However, following a decision loss to Kelvin Gastelum in the finale, he would go on to split wins and losses in the UFC. Not to mention, Hall struggled to make weight, much to the disappointment of Dana White.

The match-up is expected to be a striking clinic as both fighters are explosive and economical with their strikes. Although Yoel Romero comes from a high pedigree Wrestling background, he seldom utilizes it in recent years. Hall comes to the table with a 69% Takedown defense rate and it remains to be seen whether Romero will test it further.

Yoel Romero will be keen to bounce back from his underwhelming performance against Israel Adesanya. Although the winner of the fight will not get an immediate title shot, The fight is crucial for the division going forward.
