The heavyweight contender continued, “It’s something that’s will happen anyway, we cannot avoid that fight, anyway. It is a sport, it is normal.”

Gane is currently ranked #14 in the UFC heavyweight division and will require a few more wins before he can challenge the likes of Francis Ngannou.

When asked about his relationship with The Predator and if they have met recently, Gane said, “No, because when I arrived at the gym, Francis had already left for Vegas.”

The two used to be training partners, but now with Ngannou spending most of his time in the United States, Gane believes the friendship is not as strong.

He continued, “I saw Francis a few times when he came back to Paris to prepare for a fight. So, no, I’m not close to Francis now.”

Gane is regarded as one of the top heavyweight prospects in the division. He will now face the toughest test of his career against Junior dos Santos at UFC 256.
