“Condolences And Rest in Peace Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov”- Conor McGregor Pens Classy Message For Khabib Nurmagomedov

The Nurmagomedov family patriarch Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is no more after succumbing due to medical issues caused by coronavirus complications. In light of the tragedy, the entire combat sports world has been pouring in tributes and condolence messages to the Nurmagomedov family. Some of the prominent names include John Kavanagh, CM Punk, Marlon Moraes, and many more. Now, in a true display of respect, one of ‘The Eagle’s biggest rivals in Conor McGregor has offered his condolences.

The Irish former UFC fighter too to Twitter late on Saturday and wrote, “The loss of a father, a coach, and a dedicated supporter of the sport. Condolences and rest in peace Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.”

The condolence tweet comes just days after ‘Notorious’ commented that Abdulmanap’s medical troubles were all just a cover-up. This he reasoned was to hide the lack of activity and pulling out of fights.

The UFC’s first fighter to hold the gold simultaneously in 2 divisions is accusing ‘The Eagle’ of fleeing from his scheduled UFC 249 clash against Tony FergusonHowever, McGregor wasn’t always doubtful of Abdulmanap’s illness. In May, he labeled the ailing 57-year-old as “a true martial genius!”

In the midst of this, the fighters have not forgotten their disdain for one another. The UFC Lightweight Champion lashed out at Conor McGregor’s “GOAT THREAD.” He went on to label him as the “greatest UFC fighter in Twitter history.”

The duo competed against each other at UFC 229. The infamous post-fight brawl is what fans will associate with the event. Fans have been clamoring for a rematch between the duo. However, ‘Notorious’ has retired twice since that day and continues to plummet down the rankings due to inactivity. 

Meanwhile, the Dagestani fighter will return to defend his strap against Interim belt holder Justin Gaethje. It remains to be seen if the clash will go ahead as per schedule. But ‘The Eagle’s steely resolve to devote his all into training as his father teetered between life and death is a clear indication that he will channel his grief into becoming the best version of himself.
