With mere days to go for the highly anticipated UFC 249, former Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley took to Twitter to announce that he is ready to have his name on the fight card for the event.

With the card for UFC 249 going through turmoil because of the widespread pandemic, Woodley’s announcement comes as a saving grace for Dana White.

Woodley’s presence on the card will give a boost to Dana’s claim of making UFC 249 the “baddest card ever”. While “The Chosen One” was set to make an appearance at UFC London, the organization could not carry out the event. The flight restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus ensured that his opponent, Leon Edwards, was unable to travel, and the fight was called off. Eventually, the whole card faced the same fate.

However, Tyron does not want to sit around waiting for another year before he fights. He last made an appearance in the Octagon on March 2nd, 2019, when he lost his title to Kamaru Usman. Post the fight, he was booked for two bouts. Unfortunately, they were both canceled.

Thus, Woodley is aching to get back to the fight game, and he might just face his “annoying” teammate, Colby Covington.

The Chaos” Colby Covington has a long and rich history with Woodley. Starting off as teammates, the relation between them turned bitter as Colby started trash-talking Woodley as he climbed up the Welterweight rankings.

Now, both fighters are eager to take the other down. Colby Covington even served as a replacement for Leon Edwards last month. However, the fight did not take place as the whole event was postponed.

Now, as we get closer to UFC 249, Woodley has called Covington out again to be a part of the fight card. Covington also stated that he is willing to be a part of the card. Thus, we might just see the two finally lock horns.

However, if the fight does not take place this time, Woodley will not give Covington another chance. He said,

“If Colby [doesn’t] fight me this time, I’m moving on. Like think about it, why am I even talking about fighting Colby? He’s never won an undisputed title. He’s never been a champion. I’ve won five world titles. I’ve fought in seven [title fights]. For me to even have his name in my mouth is stupid. This s**t is mucus. I should just spit it out [on] the grass.”

Who do you think will dominate the other inside the octagon, if a fight between the two takes place?
