3rd ranked Lightweight fighter Conor McGregor is making headlines for his “GOAT THREAD.” As a result, he has found himself in the crosshairs of a lot of fighters. These include Kamaru Usman, Nate Diaz, and Anderson Silva who have called ‘Notorious’ out for a fight. However, even as his own July return looms closer, fans aren’t privy to the identity of his opponent.

Hence, UFC President Dana White decided to open up on what the present situation is with Conor McGregor.

Dana White gets candid over the return of Conor McGregor

In a chat with ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto, he said, “So Conor and I have not talked about fighting. I know that Conor’s going back… If you’re Conor, and you’re sitting at home, everybody is calling you out, in every weight division. Who’s next? I’m waiting for a friggin, you know.”

As Dana White was silent for a few seconds, Okamoto helpfully name-dropped Henry Cejudo and Alexander Volkanovski.

White continued, “Cormier. I mean, who’s gonna call him out next? It’s crazy. And you know Conor and his personality, he’s going to respond to it.”

“Conor and I have not talked about a fight. I think what Conor needs to do is sit back, let a lot of these fights start rolling out. Obviously, the most important division, the 55-pound division and see what plays out for him.”

The UFC President indicates that ‘Notorious’ will be limited to the all-important Lightweight division. His statement reiterated his stance on ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ not being ‘Notorious’ next opponent.

He also indicated that McGregor should see what plays out at 155 pounds. However, as per ‘Notorious’ timeline for a return, none of the top Lightweight contenders will be available for a fight.

Fans could see White’s words as dismissive over an Anderson Silva super fight too. This is because he attributes McGregor’s responses to his personality.

Who do you think Conor McGregor will face when he makes his return to the Octagon?
