Abdulmanap had been in a critical state for months now. At first, it seemed like he was suffering from pneumonia. However, further diagnosis revealed that it was COVID-19. Thereafter, he underwent heart surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma.
As per RT.com, Khabib’s father took his last breath at 57 years of age. The MMA mastermind played a key role in shaping Khabib mentally and physically. Besides that, he also helped many Dagestani fighters reach their full potential.

Abdulmanap has been responsible for the plethora of talent we’ve seen come out of Dagestan in recent years. He deserves immense credit for that as well as his son’s success. A great coach and a great role model.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. A genius of combat sports and absolute inspiration to so many up and coming fighters. Sadly only entering his prime of coaching such a loss and tragedy. RIP and best wishes to his family during this difficult time 🙏🏽
