Conor McGregor Restarts Rivalry With Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz

UFC Megastar Conor McGregor took to Twitter and chimed in on the recent news of Nick Diaz’s return to action. “The Notorious” left no doubt in the minds of the fans as to his intentions to scrap with the Diaz Brothers. Not to mention, he has a longstanding history with Nate Diaz, resulting in both the fighters splitting wins.

The MMA community has been boiling over ever since ESPN’s Ariel Helwani broke the news that Nick would return. Chiefly, 209’s favorite son has undergone a 14-week test weight cut and has been looking in phenomenal shape. What’s more, he has been on his brother’s social media as of late, seen putting in long hours at the gym.

Conor McGregor vs the Diaz Brothers: A brief history

The former two-division champion first had a run-in with the Diaz Brothers when Nate called him out. The fight came to fruition on short notice as Conor’s original opponent in Rafael dos Anjos was injured. In came Nate Diaz at UFC 196 and scrapped against Conor McGregor in a welterweight title bout.

Nate Diaz finished McGregor on the ground via RNC after the latter blew out his gas tank early in the fight. The loss shook the MMA community as Conor had seemed unstoppable in his previous outings. The stage was set for the rematch, which was billed as one of the most exciting fights in UFC history.

The two elite athletes met once again at UFC 202, where McGregor exacted his revenge against the Stockton native. He earned a close decision nod and drew in massive box office numbers. What’s more, the MMA world has been pining for the trilogy bout between the two stars.

Conor McGregor has shown himself to be a certified star, no matter who stands across him in the Octagon. The Diaz Brothers, in their own right, are immensely popular and have a massive fan base backing them. If Conor were to secure a fight with either brother, the fight promises to be a global phenomenon of epic proportions.
