According to UFC’s latest lightweight rankings, Conor McGregor falls at 3rd place, behind Dustin Poirier who comes in at 2nd. In a recent post on social media, the Irishman has voiced these concerns, taking a shot at the UFC, rather publically. However, the virtual jab did not last long and was deleted by the fighter shortly after he posted it.

“How is the pea ahead of me in rankings? I sparked him in 90 seconds. Went further against most recent foe, plus took a round. After two-year layoff partying and or in jail/court. What a weird little game you guys play. I’ll bide my time for now but watch this space. All bums,” said McGregor in his post.

An established veteran in the UFC, Poirier was the perfect test for McGregor. However, The Diamond had a personal agenda going into the fight as well considering how the 31-year-old was offended by the Irishman’s bravado.

It was McGregor’s relentless pressure that tilted the scales to his favor. A series of his trademark kicks and mixed spinning attacks were the key to bagging a win.

McGregor’s lethal left hand is what ended Poirier, clipping him the temple to send him to the canvas. Followed by a series of ground strikes to seal the deal.
