Upon being quizzed regarding a potential opponent, White said, “no, we’re not talking about a specific opponent but he wants to fight. He wants to fight, it sounds like he wants to fight in June and he’s asking if there would be fans there. There would not be fans and the fight would be either mid-June or end of June.”

White refused to divulge on a specific opponent. However, he did hint at one person in a chat with Dennis Bermudez on the Menace and the Man podcast. They were discussing Jorge Masvidal. White said the Usman fight is there, but added, “but, yeah, there’s another interesting fight out there for him right now.”

White sent fans and the internet into overdrive when he admitted a Notorious-Gamebred clash was “a possibility too.”

‘Gamebred’ is due to fight with ‘The Nigerian Nightmare.’ The two have constantly indicated they are ready. However, a contract hasn’t been signed yet.

The BMF Champion is on a 3 fight win streak. This includes a UFC record 5-second knockout of Ben Askren at UFC 239 and a TKO win over Nate Diaz 4 months later to claim the symbolic title.

‘Notorious’ made a return to the Octagon in January and ended Donald Cerrone 40 seconds into the first round. He wants to fight three times a year. With the absence of top candidates, he would surely relish a chance at another belt.
