Eddie Alvarez wants to see Conor McGregor box

‘The Underground King’ said, I don’t know. Try boxing. I’d probably be more interested to see him box than to see him fight.”

‘Notorious’ is one of the best strikers in the UFC at present. However, his wrestling skills aren’t on par with his fellow Lightweight contenders. McGregor has struggled against opponents who are strong on the mat.

Further, Alvarez gave his opinion on McGregor’s chances against his fellow Lightweights.

“I think Conor would put Tony away. I’d like to see him fight Gaethje, but I’m off the belief he beats Gaethje, but I would like to see the fight. I’d still like to see it. I don’t like the style matchup for him with Khabib. I don’t think he has enough experience in that realm to overcome Khabib at any point.”

Alvarez was McGregor’s final opponent before ‘Notorious’ crossed over to boxing and faced Floyd Mayweather Jr in a mega-money boxing match. ‘The Underground King’ shared his views on this match too.

“He did a lot better against Mayweather than what I thought he would do.”

‘Notorious’ fell for ‘Money’s rope-a-dope technique on the night and was unable to maintain the intensity for long. However, he made a great impression on boxing legends such as George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, and Mike Tyson.

“I’d like to see him get in there not so much with a Mayweather but maybe a C level guy. I feel like he can win against a B or C level guy, not the freaking best of all time.”

McGregor was subject to a crossover fight against Terence Crawford. However, as of this moment, ‘Notorious’ remains committed to his desire to make up for the lost time in the Octagon. He vowed to fight three times a year. But with him,  anything is possible, as we saw with the Mayweather bout.
