Dana White Gives a Major Update on Max Holloway VS. Alexander Volkanovski Trilogy

UFC President Dana White recently said in an interview with ESPN that he is all in for a trilogy fight between Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski.
White is back in the war room, and while discussing the events on Fight Island with Brett Okamoto, he touched upon what’s next for ‘Blessed‘. Interestingly, the UFC Boss still feels that Holloway does deserve a rematch.
Discussing the future of the Featherweight division with respect to the next contender for the title, White said, “Yair Rodriguez has a fight coming up. ‘Zombie’ has a fight coming up. Ortega and Zabit (too). All of these guys are going to fight in the next couple of months here. We’ll see how that all plays out.”

Speaking about the prospect of a trilogy fight, he said, “It’s hard to not say we can give Max a rematch for that fight again. Do it a third time. I think all of the fans and the media would agree with that. I don’t know for sure.”
However, Dana feels that Volkanovski will not agree with the idea of fighting Holloway a third time, as he has beaten the latter twice. Thus, he has proven his mettle.
Nevertheless, Volkanovski did say after the first fight that he wanted to finish Holloway and cement his greatness and earn the respect of fight fans. Of course, he was unable to do so at Fight Island. Therefore, he might just say yes to an opportunity for putting down Holloway once and for all.
Why do fight fans want to see Max Holloway vs Alexander Volkanovski 3?
Fight fans experienced yet another dogfight between the former UFC Featherweight champion Max Holloway and the current champion, Alexander Volkanovski on Fight Island. The two clashed in order to determine a clear victor after their close scrap last year. It was that fight in which Holloway lost his belt to ‘The Great’.
However, their fight on Fight Island yielded a result so close that it would be unfair to crown any of the two a definite winner. Of course, Volkanovski outshone Holloway on the judge’s scorecards. But, whether Volkanovski actually is definitely the better champion, is something that experts and fans still cast suspicion upon.

Moreover, Max holds the credibility of being one of the greatest Featherweights ever. And therefore, to etch his name in the history of the sport, Volkanovski must definitely try to bag a decisive victory against Holloway, so as to do away with any blots on the greatness he wants his legacy to hold.
