Dana White Says Joe Rogan Is Super Excited About Deiveson Figueiredo Fight Ahead of UFC 255

UFC president Dana White and Joe Rogan are huge fight fans. Not only are they the two biggest personalities in the UFC, but they are hardcore fans of the sport. With UFC 255 this weekend, both Dana and Joe are looking forward to the main event.

UFC 255 will have two titles on the line, with both Deiveson Figueiredo and Valentina Shevchenko defending their flyweight belts. 

Ahead of this weekend’s event, White has been around doing his media obligations. Speaking on the ‘The Jim Rome Show’, Dana explained how excited he is about this ‘under the radar’ card.

He said, “The two main events are awesome. I mean, Figueiredo is such a beast, this kid is a savage. Valentina Shevchenko is a savage. We got Mike Perry versus Tim Means on this card. Chookagian versus Cynthia Calvillo, Shogun Rua is on a card, Brandon Moreno, Joaquin Buckley who had that viral knock out a few weeks ago on Fight Island. You know the card is stacked from top to bottom.”

Joe Rogan is pumped for the main event

While ‘The Bullet’ is a relatively well-known name, Figueiredo is still a relatively new commodity to the UFC. However Dana White is a huge fan of the Brazilian champion.

The UFC President said, “This kid is the real deal. He goes in there and he tries to hurt you, you know, and he has wins over some of the best in the world. He proved who he was in that Benavidez fight and I’m excited to see him.”

Not only Dana White, but the host of the JRE on YouTube and UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, is in awe of the ‘Deus da Guerra’s fighting style. “Figueiredo is just one of those guys you know. Rogan called me the other day and was just telling me how pumped he was for this fight.”

Dana continued, “When there are good fights with guys that you know are going to be, as you said ‘violent’, Rogan and I get excited and talk on the phone for about an hour.”

‘The God of War’ is preparing for his first title defense since capturing the belt. At UFC 255, Deiveson Figueiredo (19-1) will face Alex Perez (24-5) who is on a three-fight win streak. Will he perform in a manner that justifies Rogan and White’s pre-fight excitement surrounding him?
