Nick Diaz was one of the biggest names in MMA in the first decade of the 2000s. He emerged as a robust fighter who could withstand insane levels of punishment. Diaz claimed the title in Strikeforce, returned to the UFC, and hasn’t competed since losing to Anderson Silva in 2015. Now, the fighter revealed that he is targeting a mega return to the cage. This resulted in an immediate challenge by a prominent fighter, Darren Till.

The UFC Middleweight contender put his name forward to scrap with the Stockton native. He tweeted, “If (Nick Diaz) wants to come back & scrap, who’s the biggest star, fight & best fight for him outside the Middleweight champ.? F**king me that’s who…”

Till presents the unique combination of big-name and former title challenger. However, there is one roadblock in a potential Darren Till vs Nick Diaz fight.

Nick Diaz and Darren Till fight in different weight classes

Darren Till competed at welterweight before moving to middleweight after a series of botched weight cuts. Nick Diaz fought ‘The Spider’ at 185 pounds, but that was one of the few times he competed at the weight. He featured prominently at welterweight throughout his career with the occasional lightweight fight.

Nick Diaz’s test weight cut saw him drop to 165-175 pounds range. This gave fans the impression that he is looking to compete in the same division as his brother, Nate Diaz. The practice weight cut results could eliminate Darren Till from contention unless either fighter is open to switching weight classes.
