Lewis falls asleep at the post-fight press conference

‘The Black Beast’ fought a hard matchup against Roy Nelson back in 2016 at UFC Fight Night 90. While Lewis managed to secure a close split decision win, he did not have enough energy to stay awake during the press conference.

Fighters that attend the post-fight press conference generally have to deal with a lot of questions from the media. They have to sit in front of the media and answer questions about what went right, what went wrong, and what’s next.

Derrick Lewis, however, wasn’t interested in any of that. During the post-fight press conference, Lewis put his head down on the table and proceeded to doze off to a well-earned nap.

Derrick Lewis – All Knockouts in the UFC

Derrick Lewis’ beef with Daniel Cormier

At UFC 226, the then Light-Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier was heading up to the heavyweight division to face champion Stipe Miocic. With Lewis on the card, the two sat beside each other in the pre-fight press conference.

When asked by the media if DC planned to go back down to 205, he responded that he already has a challenge at heavyweight beside Stipe. He jokingly recalled how Lewis had told him that he would knock him out, calling DC ‘small’ in the process.

Ariel Helwani would proceed to ask Lewis about what his issue with DC was, he replied, “He disrespected Popeyes Chicken on a commercial a few years ago.”

Lewis rips Travis Browne post-fight interview

‘The Black Beast’ went up against Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 105. Brown, who was dating Ronda Rousey at that time, wound up on the receiving end of a vicious series of punches that stopped the fight in the 2nd round.

However, that was not the end of the night for Browne. Lewis in the post-fight interview went on to tear Travis apart playing down Big Brown’s offense.

“I just got to do a No. 2, that’s all,” Lewis said when asked about body kicks he absorbed in the first round. “It’s not hurting from the kick, I’ve just got a boo-boo.

“I just knew I had a bigger heart than him. He calls himself a man, but he likes to put his hands on women,” he responded, “So forget that guy, I’ve got much more heart than he has. Where’s Ronda Rousey’s fine ass at?”

Derrick Lewis would be doing porn

The Texas-born star sat down for an interview with UFC Tonight on Fox. The interview was hosted by Kenny Florian and former middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

Lewis was asked by Bisping what he would be doing if he wasn’t fighting for the UFC. ‘The Black Beast’ proceeded to reply, “I would probably be doing porn stuff.”

Derrick continued to explain, “When I was a 15-year-old kid, you know, whenever I first learned how everything goes, that was one of my passions growing up.

Throw my wife’s legs up in the air

Derrick Lewis doesn’t hold anything back, whether it’s in the cage or on the mic. Coming off his vicious KO win over Russian heavyweight Alexander Volkov, Lewis went on FS1 for his post-fight interview.

Sitting alongside former UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Michael Bisping, Lewis was asked how he plans to celebrate the victory over the Russian.

‘The Black Beast’ proceeded to reply, “Probably just going to go home and throw my wife’s legs in the air and see what’s goes from there.”

My balls were hot

Probably the most iconic and well-known interview in Lewis’ career, if not the entire UFC, was the time Joe Rogan interviewed him in the octagon. Having won his fight via 3rd round KO, Lewis proceeded to remove his pants in the middle of the octagon.

When questioned by Joe on why he took his pants off, Lewis would give the UFC one of its most viral moments when ‘The Black Beast’ replied, “Because my balls were hot”.
