

Tyron Woodley has confirmed that he has already been offered a fight with Colby Covington. ‘The Chosen One‘ said that he has gone on to accept the fight. Speaking to ESPN, Woodley ran back his recent loss to Gilbert Burns.
He went on to project his path moving forward. It seems to be that Colby Covington is very much a part of his immediate plans.

Tyron Woodley is coming off a devastating main event loss at UFC on ESPN 9. Woodley was looking to bounce back win a victory against Gilbert Burns. He was returning to action after 15 months away from the cage.
In light of the recent setback, Woodley is forced to revisit all available options. A fight with Colby Covington was slated right after he secured the interim welterweight belt. Several reports claim that around 5 attempts were made to book the fight, however, it wasn’t meant to be.
Woodley would go on to defend the strap against Darren Till and Covington would be stripped of his interim status.
Tyron Woodley wants back into the win column
Following his loss to Burns, Woodley said that the UFC immediately offered the fight with Covington.

“They offered me that fight, I told them I’m in. I mean, I just don’t want to talk a lot about Colby because Colby is an actor, man. I know what he is doing and it makes sense and it’s kind of fun to watch,” Tyron Woodley to ESPN.
“But, at the end of the day, Colby has turned me down five or six times. After losing two fights back-to-back it may be a time he may accept it because he may think I’m down and out”.
“That was the first thing they [UFC] did. They wanted to see if I was alright then they offered me the fight against Colby. I told Malki [Kawa] to make sure you tell them today, yes. Don’t wait until tomorrow, tell them today yes. So, they have offered me Colby and I once again have accepted and we will see what happen”-Tyron Woodley.

A fight between the former teammates has long been in the making. There is no love lost between Woodley and Covington which almost guarantees an exciting match-up.
It is still uncertain whether ‘Chaos’ will accept the fight as he has expressed interest in other bouts.
