Francis Ngannou Showcases Free Gym to Uplift People Suffering Without Opportunities

Francis Ngannou has not had an easy childhood growing up. While most children across the world spent their childhood going to school and enjoying a better life, the heavyweight contender spent his days in the sand mine working with a shovel.

Since making his move to the UFC, Ngannou has 10 wins in the division, all coming by way of stoppage. The devastating power that Ngannou has in his hands has shot the Cameroonian born fighter to stardom.

Ngannou now gives back to his community to help develop the youth. Recently shared on his YouTube channel, Francis Ngannou showcased his Foundation for Cameroon.

The heavyweight star has set up his first training center to help youth with a passion for martial arts. “This place is designed for combat sports,” Ngannou said.

“So we have the cage, the tatami which can be used for judo, jiu-jitsu, potentially MMA when we get a coach and wrestling.”

‘The Predator’ went on to state, “Allowing kids who have this as a passion to get acquainted with elements of these sports. So that is what the concept is all about.”

Francis went on to recall his early days when he had hoped for a place where he could train. He continued, “I grew up having this dream but unfortunately there was nothing fifty kilometers around, no opportunity.

“So I used to wish that a good samaritan would come, wave a magic wand, and conjure up a place where I could practice.”

The hardship Ngannou has faced, has made him a better person, and he is always looking to give back. The Cameroonian born star has now started the Francis Ngannou foundation to give the youth the opportunities that he never had.

“I knew that if there were a few kids out there, who had the same dream and determination as I had, then it would be worth the effort,” Ngannou said.

He concluded, “People in rural areas like this one are always cursed with discouragement. So the foundation’s main goal is to motivate the kids, to get them to believe in themselves.”

Francis Ngannou will now look to bring a gold UFC belt to his hometown when he faces the champion Stipe Miocic in a rematch. While no official announcement has been made, Ngannou will be next to compete for the heavyweight gold.
