Stipe Miocic cemented his throne at the top of the Heavyweight mountain as he put down Daniel Cormier in their third outing to become the Greatest of all Time. Now, everyone has their eyes fixed on who will attempt to take the GOAT’s title.

The list of contenders narrows down to two names- Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones. Both Jones and ‘The Predator‘ are looking forward to facing Stipe for the title. In fact, as soon as Stipe defeated DC, Ngannou and Jones expressed their desire to go next.

However, it seems that the UFC President Dana White will favor Ngannou over ‘Bones‘ for the title fight. Even though Ngannou has already fought Stipe once for the title, he has made a lot of improvement ever since.

The Cameroonian has been consistent with his Round 1 KOs. He took on legends like Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos in this period, becoming eligible again to compete for the title. The Boss acknowledged that another title shot for Francis is long overdue, and will come to him as soon as possible.

Yet, it seems like ‘Stone Cold‘ isn’t a fan of the idea of fighting Ngannou again. In a recent series of Instagram question/answer stories, someone asked him who he would want to face for his next defense from amongst Jones and Ngannou.

“Francis isn’t exciting to me, already put on a 25 minute clinic on how to beat him. Want a new challenge! Would love to box.”

It is clear who Miocic prefers to fight next. The arguable GOAT of MMA, Jon Jones. Jones’ shift to Heavyweight has also received the acknowledgment of Dana White. Therefore, inevitably, he will fight for the title of the Big Boys.

He has been training regularly to compete with the hard-hitters. Moreover, he is aiming to keep his maneuverability and conditioning untouched whilst improving upon his skill and power. Thus, as Ngannou said, Jones may be more dangerous at Heavyweight than at Light Heavyweight.

And that is exactly the challenge that Miocic is looking for. If the two clash next, the fight would go down in the books of history as one of the greatest wars ever. But then again, Miocic assured that he would not be the one deciding who he fights next. It will be the UFC.
