The MMA world was rocked by the news of the sad demise of the legendary Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who passed away earlier today. The father of UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and coach to other great fighters, Abdulmanap will go down in history as one of the greats of the sport.

Deeply affected by the loss to not only for ‘The Eagle’, but also for the MMA world, many fighters sent their thoughts, prayers, and best wishes to the Nurmagomedov family.

The legendary matchup that never happened, Ferguson vs Khabib, has created quite a feud between the two fighters. However, Ferguson has always respected the role that family plays. And in these dire times, he offered prayers to give his fellow fighter strength.

Dan Hooker reaches out to Khabib Nurmagomedov

‘The Hangman’ recently gave a great performance against Dustin Poirier. Even though he lost the fight, he gained the respect of every single fight fan and pundit for enduring the all-out war.

The news of Abdulmanap’s death crushed Hooker as it did every other fighter. He took to Twitter to reach out to Khabib.

Furthermore, many other greats of the sport like Conor McGregor and Dana White paid their homage to the legendary Abdulmanap. Truly, the sheer greatness of his legacy is extremely difficult to come by, let alone achieve. And it lives on in his son, the unbeaten Khabib Nurmagomedov.
