Tony Ferguson has been in the UFC since 2011. The Ultimate Fighter season 13 winner has always stepped up whenever the promotion has needed him. This weekend, ‘El Cucuy’ will once again step into the octagon at UFC 256 when the company needs him the most.
The event has seen the cancelation of the women’s featherweight title clash and the men’s bantamweight and welterweight title bouts on different occasions in the buildup. It had been severely shorn of its star power.

UFC 256 will be headlined by flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo defending his title against Brandon Moreno. While Figueiredo has brought life back into a dying division, the Brazilian is still an unknown commodity to most of the casual MMA audience. The true star power of this card comes from the return of Tony Ferguson. However, he will fight Charles Oliveira instead of Michael Chandler.

Tony Ferguson takes a jibe at Michael Chandler
Tony Ferguson had some harsh words for the new signing of Michael Chandler. This is someone who ‘El Cucuy’ wanted to fight, but the UFC did not permit it as ‘Iron’ had just cut weight two months back.
Speaking to Kevin Iole from Yahoo Sports, Ferguson said, “Nobody treats me good or bad or whatever. I’m still a company man. I’m going to show up and do my job like a pro and the rest of these other guys if they’re not ready to do that, then you go to Bellator. Go back because you’re not ready to come and fight for us”

The fighter also opened up on how he was a company man. However, he added that he wouldn’t let anybody alter his future.
He said, “I’m a company man too in the same way and what we do though is I’m not going to let anybody alter my future anymore. I can’t and especially these fighters that are coming in from a different promotion and trying to skip, you guys have to realize it’s a repeat process that the UFC keeps doing.”
