Daniel Cormier is just hours away from the biggest and arguably the last fight of his career. Cormier will meet Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 252. As DC gears up for his last dance, his friend and stablemate Khabib Nurmagomedov wished him nothing the best on social media.
The UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov trains with Cormier at American Kickboxing Academy. The two have also developed a friendship over the years of training together.
Khabib has suffered the loss of his father and hence couldn’t join Cormier in preparing him for the trilogy against Miocic. Regardless, Cormier has said that he talks with Khabib over the phone on a fairly regular basis. The Dagestani juggernaut wished his dear friend nothing but the best in the most important fight of his professional career.

Daniel Cormier first met Stipe Miocic inside the Octagon in July 2018. The former Olympian entered into the fight as the lightweight champion, with an aim of becoming the first man to capture both the light heavyweight and heavyweight belt simultaneously. It took him less than a round to realize his dream as he earned the victory via a TKO.
The UFC gave Miocic his rematch after just over a year in August 2019. After the first three rounds, Cormier was ahead on the judges’ scorecard. However. recurring body shots from Miocic proved to be his nemesis. Miocic regained the belt, thus setting up the trilogy.
Khabib Nurmagomedov also has his next fight lined up for later this year
While the death of his father has moved him on a personal level, the UFC 155-pound champ is still not delaying anything on the professional front. Khabib knows that there is an interim champ in line waiting for him. Therefore, he will return to the Octagon at UFC 254 in October later this year.

Hence, he dropped a number of possible names, which include Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor as well.
