Conor McGregor, in a bid to keep himself in the reckoning for the Lightweight Championship, has been very active on Twitter. He subtly mocked Justin Gaethje and stated that he wants ‘The Highlight’ next. Also, he continued to trash talk the champion Khabib Nurmagomedov calling him “an embarrassment to real fighting.” His words must have touched a nerve as ‘The Eagle’ tweeted out some truths to ‘Notorious’ and took him down memory lane.

In his second tweet, undoubtedly addressed to the 3rd ranked Lightweight contender, he said, “Hug legs? Have you forgot how I knock you down, or you typing tweets drunk? Beat you in striking, parts you up in wrestling, absolutely destroy you in grappling, Made you grab air with your hands, and at the end you gave up. last one, don’t forget your words ‘it’s only business'”

A rematch between the duo will have to wait for a while. This is because Dana White said that the winner of Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje will face ‘The Eagle’ in a unification bout. The ‘Notorious’, with his series of tweets, ensures he isn’t too far away from the conversation of the next contender for the belt.

However, he will not wait that long for a fight. McGregor maintained that he wants to fight three times a year and ended his twitter rant saying he’ll be back in July. A clash between ‘Notorious’ and ‘The Eagle’ will always be a big draw, even without a belt.

When do you see the two biggest draws in the UFC locking horns again?
