Recently, the UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones was arrested for DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) and negligent use of firearms. While the news might have surprised many, rival Daniel Cormier had predicted it way before it happened.
Jon Jones is probably the most talented athlete in the UFC. The champion has had impressive wins over some of the best fighters in his division. The only blemish on his record came by disqualification against Matt Hamill, a match which Jones was clearly winning.
Just like a coin, even a champion has two sides. Jones has landed in trouble multiple times. The American was involved in a hit-and-run case involving a pregnant woman, doping violations—which he justified later on—and even had to rehabilitate himself for cocaine use.

Daniel Cormier knew Jon Jones would “f*** up.”
Daniel Cormier, Jones’ long-time rival, did a respectable job in predicting Jones’ future.
Cormier and Jones first fought at UFC 182, in which Jones handed Cormier his first loss. Since then, these two men have absolutely hated each other. Their rivalry eventually led to the booking of their rematch at UFC 200.

Daniel Cormier had some harsh truth for Jon Jones
The match between the two was widely promoted. In one of the face-to-face conversations, DC made a bold statement that stands true even today. Check it out below.
"Sobering truth is, his history dictates and determines that the same thing is going to happen. That is him at his core… He will not change. He's the same guy. He's rotten at his core and he will continue to f*** up." – Daniel Cormier on Jon Jones in 2016 prior to UFC 200. pic.twitter.com/XJtWVD9pjh

However, the UFC 200 bout failed to materialize after Jones failed an USADA drug test. He later claimed that the failed tests resulted from him using contaminated sexual aids.
Will Jon Jones ever learn his lessons?
Despite repeated offenses, it seems like Jones was left off the hook without severe repercussions. Even commentator Joe Rogan had warned him about his behavior during his early days. However, Jones has taken none of the advice seriously, and continues to be reckless.
