Michel Pereira impressed everyone with his statement victory over Zelim Imadaev. The win broke a two-fight losing skid for the Brazilian. Pereira is a showman who never fails to make it interesting for the viewers when he steps inside the Octagon. UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, believes Pereira has a big fight coming his way.
Pereira controlled the fight right from the beginning. He landed whenever he wanted and wherever he wanted. At the same time, he took little to no damage at all. He adopted a more cautious approach for the fight compared to his unwarranted aggressive style of fighting in the last two fights. The win garnered him appreciation from the divisional champ as well.
"He made that statement. He proved to everybody — our bosses and myself included — that he can be a full, complete fighter."

The face-off between Pereira and Imadaev was rather rough as the Russian had slapped Pereira. The latter made a note to return the favor inside the Octagon.
“I don’t know why exactly he did this, but I told him I would pay him back, and I did in the fight,” Pereira explained after the fight. “I’m a man – you cannot slap my face.”

After he managed the business last night, Pereira had a rather optimistic choice for his next opponent. He called out BMF champ Jorge Masvidal. While it is almost impossible that he gets the fight in the near future, you have to appreciate Periera’s desire to fight against Masvidal.
Meanwhile, ‘Gamebred’ is currently being matched up with Nate Diaz for a rematch of the BMF belt. The fight will most likely take place at the beginning of 2021.
