“I’m interested in everything that makes sense, there are a lot of IF’’s but that’s a super fight I’m interested in,” Ngannou said. Further, he expressed his frustrations about not being able to secure the matchups that he is looking for.

The WBC interim Champion since July 2019, Whyte is seemingly vying for a bout against The Predator, as per Eddie Hearn. Hearn spoke about reaching out to UFC president Dana White about a potential bout this year,

Though Ngannou remains skeptical about a clash with Whyte, he is open to all options. This is not the first time promoter Eddie Hearn has spoken about working in tandem with the UFC. The outcome of this potential association is yet to be seen.

What’s the next step for Francis Ngannou?

Francis Ngannou, who is coming off four spectacular 1st round finishes, has his eyes set on the next title shot. Division champion Stipe Miocic has ruled out a return to MMA any time soon, serving first as a first responder in his home state.

This leaves Ngannou without a dance partner after practically clearing out the whole division.

Given the existence of Zuffa Boxing and Dana White supporting Mayweather vs McGregor back in 2017, it is possible that this matchup will be greenlit.

With Ngannou and Whyte both being monstrous punchers, this would be a compelling fight. No bout specifications have been clarified. However, speculations are that the bout could be a boxing exhibition.

Ngannou, who has expressed an urge to compete in boxing at the highest level, would be looking to capitalize on this opportunity. Only time will tell whether this fantasy bout will come to fruition.
