Dustin Poirier is currently ranked in a different weight class from Covington, but it doesn’t seem to affect their bad blood. The recent reconciliation seems to have dissolved as Chaos Covington went right after Poirier.

Colby Covington Sounds Off

“There’s only two fights to make in the welterweight division right now. It’s either me vs Marty Fake Newsman or Me vs Street Judas Masvidal. If it can’t be that, then what about Doofus Dustin Poirier?

He was telling the media: ‘Oh, next time I see Colby on-site’… It’s on-site motherf**ker. Then let’s go meet in the Octagon.”

‘Chaos’ is no stranger to vicious callouts. He has become a heel in MMA ever since his post-fight callout at UFC Fight Night: Sao Paulo. Ever since then he has never looked back. This villain persona has paid dividends for Covington.

Covington said, “I’ve seen that guy multiple times, he didn’t try to fight me. He’ll get put down real quick. He’ll never be able to look at his daughter the same way again. And His wife will probably divorce him cause he’ll be ugly as fu** after I’m done with him.”

Covington is coming off a loss against Kamaru Usman at UFC. Given the surge of top contenders, it appears that Covington will not be receiving an immediate rematch. Considering Burns, Masvidal and Edwards are all vying for the strap, Covington could explore his available options.

The former interim Welterweight champion has his sights set on the two biggest fights in the division. In light of recent strife between the former teammates, this fight would compel MMA fans.
