Henry Cejudo is ending his retirement barely four months after he announced it. The former UFC ‘champ-champ’ has been vocal about his desire to win a third belt in the UFC. For this, he has identified Alexander Volkanovski as the ideal opponent and spent months goading him into a fight.

Now ‘The Messenger’ has joined up with middleweight contender Paulo Costa to help him prepare for his first title opportunity. Predictably, he has begun trash-talking Israel Adesanya too and finished his comment with news about his return.

He tweeted, “Once we take out the Pink princess you next! (Alexander Volkanovski). I am coming out of retirement to fight alexander the average (Dana White)”

In typical Henry Cejudo ‘King of Cringe’ style, we see him engage in a mockery of Volkanovski’s name and moniker. He has also poked at Adesanya’s UFC 253 hair by adapting one of his trademark trolls (princess), which he used in abundance against Dominick Cruz.

In the video, we see Cejudo address ‘Borrachinha’ about wrestling and winning rounds. This could prove crucial in the UFC 253 main event as ‘The Last Stylebender’ is a slick martial artist with a wealth of kickboxing expertise.

“Even though you get tired, you wrestle and grapple, you gonna win the round that way. You know what I’m saying? These are the things you have to do, man. Fight and compete,” said Cejudo to a gassed out Costa.

‘Borrachinha’ has claimed that Adesanya will run a lot. However, in chasing him Costa could get tired and present a huge target to hit on September 26. Hence, he needs to tie the champion down if possible and neutralize his strengths.

Costa is a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, and a combination of the grappling and his insane striking, which has yielded 11 T/KO finishes, could be the key to him maintaining his unbeaten streak.

Cejudo too could pick up some valuable insights from Costa on being an insane striker and add to his knowledge ahead of a return to the octagon.

Do you see Cejudo’s tweet as something just to catch the attention of the MMA world? Or is he serious about making a grand comeback?
